RIZACOS, Harry  - 1926 - 2017  Born Harilaos Rizakos on January 31, 1926 in Spartia (Kotsatina), Lakonia, Greece to Stavroula and Petros Rizakos.

Predeceased by wife Ekaterina and wife Konstantina.

Predeceased by siblings Nikolaos, Stiliani, Giorgos and Valentini. Survived by children Peter (Mary) and Angelo and grandchildren Harold (Rebecca) and Alexandra. Survived by siblings Vasiliki, Ioannis (Nota), Panagiota, Dimitra (Anargiros) and Evangelia.

Harilaos immigrated to Canada in 1952, sponsored by fiancée Ekaterina Georgakakou and was registered as Harry Rizacos at point of entry.

Harry supported his new growing family by initially washing dishes in restaurant diners, then worked his way up to short order cook and finally received his accreditation as Chef from the Province of Ontario in 1967.

Konstantina predeceased him by a few weeks. He will be remembered by his loving family, immediate and extended.

He will be remembered by all the relatives, friends and strangers he and Ekaterina sponsored, sheltered, matched, overfed and helped to transition to a new life in a new land – the Rizacos home being a sanctuary for feast and celebration. He will be remembered by all the residents of the Hellenic Home, to whom he and Konstantina brought some joy and song. He never had an enemy.

He fought his illness quietly but valiantly as was his way and survived beyond all expectations.

"Death, be not proud…"
