ROACH, Bernard Joseph - October 28, 1924, Windsor, ON - October 15, 2017, Oakville, ON

Bernard Roach, son of the late Honourable Justice Wilfrid Roach of the Ontario Court of Appeal and Gertrude (Heck) Roach died peacefully in hospital, two weeks short of his 93rd birthday.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife June (nee Sweet) in 2016. He was also predeceased by his sisters Colleen Malloy, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Margaret George, Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

He is survived by sisters Julianne (Chisholm) Lyons, Ajijic, Mexico and Marie Therese (Terry Kelley), Bethesda, Maryland, brother Wilfrid (Bill) Roach, Kelowna, British Columbia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernard attended St. Michael's College School in Toronto, joined the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve (RCNVR) in 1943 and served on active duty in the North Atlantic until war's end. He earned his BA at the University of Toronto and a Teacher's Diploma from the Ontario Teachers College and taught for a number of years, after which he was employed by Chrysler Corporation until his retirement.

There will be a Funeral Service at Ward Funeral Home, Oakville, on Saturday, October 21st at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.

Bernard's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Three North, Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Also, a special thanks to Bernard's niece, Juli Lyons (Toronto) for her unstinting help and kindness to Bernard this past year.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
