Bastos Sister EsmeriaBASTOS, Sister Esmeria Marie (Mae), CSSF (Felician Sister) - (May 29, 1964 -  October 17, 2017) - 

Sister Esmeria Marie Bastos (Mae), in her 53rd year, unexpectedly went home to her God on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York.

Sister courageously dealt with a number of recent health issues and will be remembered for her faith, hope and joy in dealing with them.

Sister Esmeria celebrated her final vows in the Felician Sisters community two years ago. She enjoyed working as an activity aide at Eatonville Centre in Etobicoke.

Sister is survived by her parents, Delmira and Manuel Bastos, her sister Alice (Dennis). Sister Esmeria was the beloved aunt of Robert and Anthony. She will be fondly missed by many relatives and friends.

The Felician Sisters express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff of Credit Valley Hospital for their care from April – July, to the doctors and nursing staff of Fresenius Medical Care and to the Felician Sisters and staff at Blessed Angela Care Center in Buffalo, NY, where she recently resided.

Friends may call at Holy Name of Mary Convent, 2165 Mississauga Rd., Mississauga, from 3:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24th. Wake Service at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Convent Chapel on Wednesday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at the Felician Sisters' plot at Assumption Cemetery.

Family and friends will gather at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 588 Division Street, Kingston on Saturday, Saturday, October 28th at 5:30 p.m. for a Memorial Mass to remember Sr. Esmeria Marie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Felician Sisters or to the Alzheimer Society.
