BARNARD, Arthur Ernest   - August 9, 1922 - November 10, 2017

Ex-Flight Lieutenant, R.C.A.F. Fighter Pilot, 402 Squadron, WWII Final Posting In Burlington, on November 10, 2017, I have "slipped the surly bonds of earth". And in my log book, the final entry has been written – "Duty carried out. Tour expired."

Please, no flowers. There will be no service. A private interment will be held in Toronto, where, in the presence of my dear children, Ted and Kathy, my ashes will become one with those of my beloved wife and companion for 51 ½ years, Shirley (née Lampman).

If you wish to make a donation, please do so to The Salvation Army, which has quietly done so much for so many of those needing all kinds of help in everyday living.

Over time, I have been quite outspoken in my opinions and in my crusades opposing bureaucratic spoutings from those whom, I believe, do not share my sense of honour and integrity.

To quote advice from Shakespeare (Hamlet, Act I, Scene 3)... "To thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man." Those who did not know me will not know what to make of my words. I trust that those who did know me will have a chuckle or two.

Should anyone wish to spend a few minutes at Dodworth & Brown Funeral Home, (2241 New Street, at Drury Lane, Burlington), on November 26th from 1 to 4 p.m., do drop in.

And now, to all FAREWELL, and Cheers!.
