Passed away Nov. 18, 2017 at the age of 82.

Beloved husband of Jackie Walsh for 33 years.

Survived by his daughters Cammie (Ardis) and Elizabeth, his sons Ted, Michael and Geoff, his brother Jim (Maureen), sister Beverley (Elwood), his grandchildren Kristyn (James), Nicole, Chad, Dayna, Benjamin, Claire, and Emily, and great grandchild Elliott.

Ron was born in London Ontario to Charles Edward Peirce and his wife Norma Elizabeth (nee Switzer) but spent most of his adult life in the Toronto area.

His first civilian position after graduating with an Honours BA in Business Administration/University of Western Ontario was with CIBC in 1961.

He then began a very successful career with IBM in 1964. He held various management positions with IBM retiring at the age of 65. Oasis Technologies then scooped him up because of his expertise in contract writing and negotiations and he worked until he was 70.

Ron's main love was flying and he found a way to pursue this passion as a reservist with the RCAF/CAF. He served a total of 32 years leaving as a full Colonel and the Commander 2 Tactical Aviation Wing, Toronto/Downsview.

He flew the Harvard, T33 Silver Star, F86 Sabre V, Beach 18, DC3 Dakota, Otter, and Kiowa (helicopter). He also owned his own private airplane for 30 years (a Mooney M20F, M20J, and M20R/Ovation).

Ron will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday November 22nd from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St., (south of Steeles Ave. Toronto).

A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday November 23, at 11 a.m.

If desired, donations can be made to Vets Canada (vetscanada.org).
