JONES, Samuel Thomas  -  It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather ("Poppa"), Sam Jones, age 73.

Sam's presence, heart of gold and sense of humour was a gift to all lucky enough to have known him.

Our lives will be darker without the warmth of his smile and kindness.

He will be deeply and forever missed by his wife of 45 years, Susan, his children Laurie (Ashley), Meghan (Rob) and Paul (Maria). He will also be missed by his grandchildren, whom he held most dear, Denessa, Benjamin, Thomas, Lochlan, Connor and Josephine. He is survived by his siblings Wayne, Bill (Joan), Mary Ellen (Danny), Paul (Lynn), Wendy (Dave) and Robin (Rick, predeceased) and sisters-in-law Silja and Pat (Willie).

He also leaves behind his many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends may gather to pay their respects on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7 Lacey Court, Aurora, followed by a reception.

A private family burial will take place.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to be made independently to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Liver Foundation.
