Kerr MurielKERR, Muriel  - January 12, 1938 - November 29, 2017

After a long and fulfilled life, Muriel succumbed to illness on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at home.

She was with her beloved daughter, Phyllis; best friend of 70 years, May; and dear family friend, Merle.

Muriel was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, John; their only son, Grant; and her older sister, Phyllis.

Muriel will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Shane, Jordan and Shannon; her great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Keegan and Kayleigh; by her brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Irene; their children, David, Peter, Karen and Paul; May and her husband Ken, her friends on Jasper, Aloma and in Rosedale Village; and by the many others that Muriel touched over her 79 years with us.

Muriel was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, moving to her new home in Canada in 1957. She had an open mind, reflected in her love of history and her travels far and wide with John. All who knew her will remember that smile that could light up any room. Muriel's family is grateful to her caregivers, including her nurse, family doctor, and her personal support workers who provided for her comfort and dignity at home.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11 am, with service to follow at 12 pm, at Andrews Community Funeral Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
