Crooker Rev RobertCROOKER, REV. Robert W., CSB,  - Peacefully at home on January 6, 2018 in Anglin House of the Basilian Fathers.

He was predeceased by his father John Crooker Sr. and mother Marguerite Malsch Crooker and his older brother John Jr.

He is survived by nieces Carolyn, Linda, Tara, Allison and their children.

Fr. Crooker was born on February 21, 1925 in Houston, Texas.

Three years after graduating from St. Thomas High School he entered the Basilian Novitiate.

After taking his first vows Fr. Bob continued his studies in Toronto at the University of St. Michael's College and St. Basil's Seminary.

He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1953 in Houston. He earned a Doctorate of Canon Law in Rome in 1957 and was immediately sent to Toronto where he taught church law at St. Basil's Seminary part-time while carrying out other tasks for the Basilian Fathers.

In 1980 he was sent to the University of St. Thomas in Houston for seven years, Sugar Land, TX for two years, and Las Cruces, NM for three years, until he returned to the U. of St. Thomas.

Fr. Bob was then sent to retire at Anglin House in 2013, where he resided until his death.

Fr. Crooker had a great impact at the U. of St. Thomas because he was extremely intelligent, capable and very sociable once you got to know him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9th at 6:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Cardinal Flahiff Centre, 95 St. Joseph Street, Toronto, ON.  Visitation will also be held Wednesday, January 10th from 9 a.m. until his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the same Chapel. Interment will follow.
