NASLEN, Margaret (Margo)   - Was born in Toronto, to parents of Russian origin.

While still a teenager, she began taking opera lessons.

After attending Central Commerce, she took a job running the office at the Bochner Eye Institute.

While singing as a soloist with the Jewish Folk Choir, she caught the eye of choir member Paul Naslen. They married and honeymooned in New York.

She later became a member of the prestigious Mendelssohn Choir. Margaret later sang in the Holy Blossom Temple Choir, a women's ensemble called the Heritage Singers, and other community choirs. At an advanced age she discovered that she had a talent for art, and became a prolific painter, signing her works of art as Margo.

She shared her love of art and music with her dear friend and companion, Huck Kirzner.

Margo led a long and fulfilling life, and passed away peacefully, after a brief illness.

She is survived by her son John and his wife Chris, as well as her daughter Ava and her extended family, all living in Israel. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. T

here will be a private family interment. Shiva will be held on Thursday, January 25th, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m., at Sunrise (formerly Thorne Mill on Steeles), 484 Steeles Avenue West.
