McKECHNIE, Donald Alexander  - Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on the morning of Thursday, February 8, 2018.

A longtime resident of Port Credit, Don was a retired teacher and former head of the English Department at Clarkson Secondary School, where he wrote 4 musicals.

He was a master of the crossword puzzle, a wine connoisseur and a world traveller.

Born in Toronto on July 15, 1941 he was the eldest of 7 siblings.

He is survived by his children Alex (Delyana) and Rhiannon (Jason) as well as grandchildren Ava, Dalia, Luke, Teya and Vivian. His quick wit, gentle humour and kind nature will be forever missed by all who knew him.
