KALNS, Zigrida "Sigrid" (nee SCHER) - Born on March 14, 1926 in Liepaja, Latvia.
Passed away in Mississauga, Ontario on March 2, 2018 in her 92nd year.
She came to Canada as a refugee in 1949, settling in the Toronto area.
She studied and graduated from Women's College Nursing School and worked for many years at Women's College Hospital until she made the decision to stay home full time and raise her three daughters.
Zigrida was predeceased by her eldest daughter Benita. She is sadly missed by her loving husband of 64 years, Alfons, her daughters Dina (John) and Astrida (Ray) and her grandchildren Matejs, Dainis (Shivan), Reinis and Vilnis.
Visitation will be held at ST. JOHN'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN LATVIAN CHURCH OF TORONTO, 200 Balmoral Ave., on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service that will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow.
