PILON, Henri Ernest  - With his customary grace and dignity, Henri joined his beloved wife Rita on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.

Born in Longueuil, Quebec on April 2, 1927, the youngest of his family of 6 siblings.

Loving and devoted husband for 60 years of Rita (2008), generous and supportive father and grandfather to Henry (Daniele Brodeur): Marie Chanel Martineau (David Martin, Manuela and Kayla) and Henry Nathaniel Pilon; Robert (Patti): Catharine, Elisabeth (Shaun Cooke) and Victoria Pilon; Rita (Tim Irvine): Ashley and Michael Irvine.

Henri was predeceased by his dear parents Eva and Jean Charles, his brothers Marcel and Gaetan, and his sister Colombe.

His brother Claude and twin sister Henriette survive him.

Born and raised on the south shore of Montreal, Henri worked tirelessly and with great integrity learning early on the value of real estate. He made it his life's work to invest in the Longueuil area, his goal always to provide a better life for his family for which we are the fortunate beneficiaries.

He never stopped working even when at the family cottage near Lake Champlain in upstate New York. There was always something that needed fixing!

In retirement, Henri and Rita chose Toronto to be their home for over 30 years. After the loss of the love of his life 10 years ago, Henri stoically and courageously carried on embracing new interests including bridge (at age 81), the computer (self taught), lawn bowling and Mahjong.

He continued hosting the family Christmas dinner every year, a tradition we all treasured. As brothers, Henry and Robert are so very grateful to our sister Rita for her years of care and devotion to both our parents. Your sacrifice and attention made the quality of their lives better in so many ways.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 11th at Darche Funeral Home in Brossard, Quebec from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Henri's funeral will be held at the St. Antoine de Padoue Cathedral, 55 Rue Sainte Elizabeth, Longueuil on Monday, March 12th at 11:30 a.m. There will be a memorial service in Toronto on Friday, March 16th, 11:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 24 Cheritan Ave. A gathering to celebrate and share memories of this wonderful, gentle man will follow in the parish hall.

We would like to thank the recently renovated Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre and the kind Palliative staff for taking care of our father and Grandpa so well.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a gift to The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre, 650 Church Street, Toronto M4Y 2G5, www.torontograce.org Avec Amour Papa.
