Daicar EvaDAICAR, Eva Marie  - December 27, 1943 - March 7, 2018

Eva passed away in Newark, Delaware after an 18 year journey with breast cancer.

She was born in Belleville, Ontario to Otto and Mary Daicar (deceased) and grew up in Batawa, Ontario.

After leaving Quinte Secondary, she graduated from University of Toronto in 1966 (BA in psychology).

In 1970, she obtained a MSc from the University of London in England.

She started work at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry before moving on to Toronto General Hospital. She lived for a while in Edmonton before settling in Newark.

She was credited with starting up and managing the first therapeutic facility for the elderly associated with a university in the US (University of Delaware). Later she opened her own private practice for a number of years. Her favourite place on Earth was the family cottage at Crowe Lake where we shared many happy memories.

She also enjoyed many years in Grenoble, France at her chateau, hiking and skiing in the Alps.

Eva will be lovingly remembered by husband Henry Glyde (step-sons Mark (Alberta) and Stephen), sister Zdena, nephew Zach (Grace) and niece Lisa (Grant), Janice Berry (Mike, children Nolan, Charlotte), relatives in Kingston and the Czech Republic and best friends Bess and Marta.

Visitation at the Frankford Funeral Home on March 17, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Batawa at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eva's memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

"You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back.
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left."
