MATHESON, Lorraine Rose Marie - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Rose Marie Matheson (nee Nicolas) on March 15, 2018 at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto, at the age of 74.
She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene Nicolas and Lucienne Nicolas (nee Bisson) in 2004, her husband, Roderick (1941-2009), son, Richard (1963-1996) and sister, Jeannine (2007).
She is lovingly remembered and cherished by her children, Neil (Heather), Brenda, Jennifer, Lisa, her grandsons, Michael, Neil (Mariah), Tyler, Sawyer, Nolan, Bauer, granddaughters Lilyanna "Rose", Daisy "Rose" and great-grandson Neil.
A native of La Broquerie, Manitoba, Lorraine was the eldest of 8 children, her brothers: Louis (Donna), Florent (Carole) and Omer (Stella) and sisters, Jeannine (Emile), Louise (Norman), Alice (Lenard) and Evelyne (Roger). Lorraine also leaves behind many other beloved family members, including her sisters-in-law, Anniebell, Pearl and Paulette and nieces, nephews and cousins all across the country. Lorraine was proud of her French-Canadian heritage and was devoted to the Catholic faith; taking on the role of Godmother to many.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., for visitation on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 5-9 p.m and Wednesday, March 21, 2018, from 9-11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11 a.m.
