HERTZMAN, Eileen - The Hertzman family is sad to announce the passing away of Eileen Hertzman, aged 94.
Eileen passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, friends, and caregivers on March 17, 2018.
Eileen was born to Samuel and Fanny Lichtman in Toronto on September 19, 1923.
She was the 3rd of 4 sisters: Grace Hillman, Marjorie Rosenfield and Maxine Cadsby.
Eileen married Dr. Victor O. Hertzman in Toronto before moving to Vancouver where they welcomed 2 sons, Owen (born 1951) and Clyde (born 1953).
Eileen is survived by her sister Maxine Cadsby, daughters-in-law Marcy Cohen, Marguerite Frost and Martha Hertzman, grandchildren and their families Amos (Caitlin), Eric (Darlene), Emily (Nyian) and great-grandchildren Bennett, Posey, Pascal, Carmela and Rowan.
She will be fondly remembered for her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and science, her passion for the symphony and sailing and her thoughtfulness, resilience and quiet stoicism.
