Fernandes DonaldFERNANDES, Donald  - It is with a heavy heart that Sybil, Keith and Sharon (Jamie) announce the sudden death of their beloved husband and father, Don Fernandes.

Brother to Daisy (Reis), Delany (Ghulam), David (Lynn) and Desmond (Havovy).

Although greatly saddened by the empty place left in our lives, we draw comfort in knowing he passed into God's hands swiftly on a beautiful beach in Antigua with his wife by his side.

Treasured by many, Don will be remembered for his passion for music, politics and charity, his obsession with all things golf and single malt scotch and most importantly his devotion and love of his family and close friends. His bright smile is etched in our minds and will forever be his reminder to everyone who knew him to enjoy life to the fullest, treat others with kindness and always strive for an eagle in everything we do.

Friends may call at Holy Cross Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Rd. East) for visitation from 1:30-4:00 and 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25th.  Funeral will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church (39 Green Ln., Thornhill) at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26th, followed by a reception to celebrate Don's life at the church hall.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, to send donations in Don's name to Southlake Regional Health Centre (designate to Regional Cardiac Care Program) or Sunnybrook Hospital (designate to the Schulich Heart Centre).
