DEETON, Olive (nee OLGA SOLARCHUK) - January 10, 1931 March 19, 2018
Passed away in the home she had lived in since 1966, a place where she loved and nurtured her family and welcomed friends and neighbours with joy and companionship.
Born near Gimli, Manitoba to a large Ukrainian family, she left home at 15 and came to Toronto to be with her beloved sister Anne.
Marrying in 1951, she and Bruce raised their two daughters, Kelly (Carl) and Michelle (Mark) and later became loving grandmother to James and "Grammie" to her cherished pets. She will be remembered for her full life and spirit for adventure and fun.
Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, her dearly missed baby brother Michael and her lifelong friends Isabel, Patricia and Jeanne. Working tirelessly for Kelly and Michelle, her daughters would like to thank her for being a wonderful and caring mother.
There is great sadness with her passing, but with profound appreciation, they express their love for the lives she gave them and she will always remain in their hearts.
"Remember that my hand on yours means that I love you"
A Celebration of Life will be held at the University of Toronto's Hart House, 7 Hart House Circle, on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.
