DALE, Jean (nee DRUMMOND) - Died peacefully on April 11, 2018 in her 91st year after a long and happy life.
Predeceased by her beloved and loving husband Henry Dale, her parents Will and Rachael Drummond and her brothers Arthur and Duncan and sister-in-law Isabel.
Jean will be remembered and missed by her step-daughter Marion Henshaw (David), grandchildren Kevin Henshaw (Amelia) and Scott Henshaw (Andrea) and great-grandchildren Sebastian, Ian, Robin and Siena.
She will be remembered with love by nephew Bill Drummond (Mary Anne), and nieces Joan Leishman (Tom), Alison Farrell (John) and Tricia McMurtry (Tim) and by her six great-nieces and great-nephews and eight great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Jean was born in 1927 on a farm outside of Peterborough, Ontario.
Jean worked in Calgary and in Peterborough and then moved to Toronto where she pursued her career in the Circulation Department at the Toronto Star.
It was at "the Star" that she met Henry and married in 1964. When Henry passed away Jean moved to her condo at 245 The Donway West and met a whole new set of retirement friends who remained special to her and always at the end of the phone line, until her last days.
The family extends its thanks to the staff at the Chartwell Regency Retirement Home in Mississauga for their care and friendship during the last two years. Cremation has taken place.
A service of remembrance will be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment.
