Jensen RuthJENSEN, Ruth Berg  - December 7, 1927 - May 1, 2018

Ruth passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

She was predeceased by Eric, her husband of sixty years and survived by her children, David (Sandy) and Patricia (Glenn), her grandchildren, Bruce (Janet), Ben (Nicky), Spencer (Christine), Zachary and Jenna and great-granddaughter, Cloe.

She was looking forward to meeting her second great-grandchild this summer.

Ruth graduated from the University of Toronto's School of Pharmacy in 1953.

Most of her career was with Simpsons, first at their pharmacy in Yorkdale Mall and then in downtown Toronto.

She was an active member of St. Ansgar Lutheran Church where she met and married Eric.

Despite being tone deaf, Ruth wrote many songs and skits for church celebrations. She also served on the parish council and she and Eric were ushers for many years. A farmer's daughter, Ruth enjoyed the feel of the soil between her fingers and made good use of the beautiful garden at her retirement residence. She was happy to finally see the first signs of Spring.

Ruth always put the needs of others before her own. She supported her parents and younger brother in their final years. She and Eric also helped their son with his children for a number of years.

We hope we were able to provide her with the care and attention that she so richly deserved.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St.).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Princess Margaret Hospital, The Salvation Army, St. Ansgar Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
