HAMILL, Leonard  - Passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at The Village of Humber Heights at the age of 91.

Leonard slipped away peacefully, surrounded by family, finally ending his struggles of the past several years.

Leonard was predeceased by his wife Violetta (nee Ewart).

They were married for 66 years and he has finally joined with her once again.

He was 'the greatest dad ever' and will be sadly missed by his daughters, Vivian (Bruce) Smith, Louise (the late Bill) Burton and Cheryl (Carl) Pike.

He was a wonderful grandfather to Pamela (Tony) Thomas, Dianne Smith, Samantha (Jeff) Dennis, Vicki Smith, Michael (Jennifer) Martiniuk, Kyle (Rena) Martiniuk and Katie Martiniuk. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Lilly, Mihali, Caleb, Emma and Claire.

Leonard was the 8th of 10 children and is survived by his brothers William and Robert, his sisters-in-law Doris, Donna and Kathryn and his many adoring nieces and nephews. Leonard was born January 2, 1927 in Long Branch and lived his entire life in Etobicoke.

Following family tradition, he worked for Canadian National Railway for 44 years. Len also served as the caretaker at Westway United Church for over 20 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 12th at 2 p.m. at The Village of Humber Heights Long Term Care home where Leonard lived for 12 years.

It was Leonard's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
