HOLMES, Marion Virginia  - Born May 17, 1925 - Died May 8, 2018

Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Castleview Wychwood Towers in Toronto on May 8, 2018 at the age of 92.

The oldest daughter of George and Ada Holmes (deceased), Marion was a warm, caring and generous person.

Well read and deeply intellectual, she enjoyed a lifelong interest in mathematics and physics. She loved working her way through a complex mathematical problem.

Marion enjoyed a spirited debate on just about any topic. She had an adventurous soul and loved to explore the world around her.

As a young woman she travelled by 16' motorboat down the Ohio and Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico and loved sharing stories about that summer on the river and her adventures along the way.

Marion was generous to a fault and was a donor to a wide variety of charities and non-profit organizations. Marion was deeply religious and enjoyed helping those less fortunate.

Predeceased by sister Louise, Marion will be remembered with love by her sisters, Sylvia Fyfe and Gwen Holmes, her nephews and spouses, Alastair Fyfe and Halan Wang, Blake and Christy Fyfe and John Fyfe. Also remembered with love by 8 great-nieces and nephews Ian, Alyson, Brendan, Aimee, Katie, Alexander, Isla and Katherine.

Special thanks to the staff at Castleview for all of their hard work and efforts.

A ceremony will be held at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W., Toronto, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11 a.m.
