ADAMS, Nancy June (COLGATE)  - Peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Nancy Adams passed away on May 3, 2018.

Predeceased by her husband Nevin Russell Adams in 1999 and survived by her 4 children: Heather, Stewart, David and Jacquie, sons-in-law Duncan and Marcus, daughters-in-law Annelies and Lora and 5 grandchildren: Lucas, Neve, Dakota, Owen and Sydney.

Born in Weston in 1928, her father was a Toronto art critic, book historian and art collector who worked closely with the Group of Seven and many wonderful paintings decorated their home.

At the age of 18, she ventured off on her own and started working for the Bank of Nova Scotia. A math wiz and natural beauty, she caught the attention of Nevin Adams, a former RAAF Spitfire pilot.

After a short courtship, they were married in 1953 at Calvin Presbyterian Church. An active member of Calvin, family was her primary concern and focus. After her children had grown, she went back into banking with the CIBC where she retired in 1993. She had a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh.

A memorial service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church (26 Delisle Ave., Toronto) on Thursday, May 17 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvin Presbyterian Church or Ovarian Cancer Canada at: www.ovariancanada.org.
