Lee HeleneLEE, HELENE C.  - Born May 23, 1932 in Neudorf, SK; passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on May 15, 2018 in Brampton, ON.

Helene was the amazing mother of Michael (Alison), Larry (Wendy), Chris (Bonnie), Cathy (Bruno) Policicchio and Monique (Larry) Hehn and much loved mother-in-law of Nancy Lee and Susan Lee.

She was predeceased by her husband George, youngest son Dennis and sister Michelle.

She will be dearly missed by her 11 grandchildren, her great-grandson and her treasured friends of more than 50 years, Jean Maves and Braunda Gustafson.

Helene was a championship skater and instructor who loved to watch figure skating whenever it was on TV.

An expert knitter, Helene created beautiful "Grandma" blankets for every member of the family.

She was a lifelong and voracious reader who could devour a book in a matter of days. Her love of travel took her from a "mystery bus tour" to the Agawa Canyon, to China, on multiple trips to Mississippi and from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island. Her fabulous sense of humour endeared her to all she met.

She was a devout Catholic and her faith carried her through every challenge she faced. Helene's family will be forever grateful for the loving care she received at Maple Grove Care Community. Helene will be interred in Marmora, ON alongside her parents, Peter and Annette Guay. In lieu of flowers, donations to Covenant House would be gratefully accepted.

Friends will be received at the Scott Funeral Home, 289 Main Street North, Brampton, on Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, 115 Vodden Street East, Brampton, on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
