SULLIVAN, Dorothy Phyllis  - September 16, 1927 - May 18, 2018

Dorothy died peacefully surrounded by her family at North York General Hospital on May 18, 2018 at the age of 90 in the wonderful care of their physicians and staff and personal care workers Sharon and Noriette.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Jack, to whom she was married for 56 years and her sons, Mark and John. She leaves behind her children Diane (Cameron Sutherland), Deborah (Stephen Dunn), Paul (Rowan Amott), Andrea (Terry Killackey) and Marlane (Tom Ormesher).

She will be forever missed by her grandchildren Courtney, Kaleigh (Sutherland), Kerry, Emily, Allison (Dunn), Jillian, Ian (Sullivan), Tieghan, Keenan, Kyla, Connor (Killackey), Lindsay, Dylan and Samantha (Ormesher). Dorothy and Jack found each other at St. Joseph's Hospital while she was attending nursing school where he was interning. After a short sojourn in California for Dorothy, Jack came to his senses and they reunited in New York City in 1951 to marry in 1952 and worked at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centre together.

They returned to Canada in 1954 to raise their family. We will remember Dorothy as an amazing force who was steadfastly strong in her family values.

She raised seven children each with different interests and talents and she nurtured each and every one of us. She went on to guide and care for her 14 grandchildren and was fortunate enough to have loved her first great-granddaughter, Charlotte. We will love you forever and are thankful that you have taught us what it means to truly LOVE.

Our family would like to thank Sharon in particular for her love and tireless commitment to Mom's health and well being. She became an important part of our family as she has watched over both Mom and Dad for more than a decade. We will be forever grateful to you Sharon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shulich Medicine and Dentistry, University of Western Ontario, Suite 110, 361 Windermere Rd., London, ON N6G 2K3, Attention: Autoimmune Deficiency, in her honour.
