Williams ReitaWILLIAMS, Reita Elaine (nee LYN)  - Forever in our hearts January 20, 1934 – May 21, 2018

Reita, our mother, died surrounded by her children and their spouses.

After a long and difficult journey, our Mom died a gentle death.

Steadfast in her faith, she surrendered to its call and was consoled.

Reita was predeceased by her brothers David and Andrew.

Reita lives in the memory of Kernie, her husband; her children Anne Marie, Stephen (Jeanette), Angela (Donato), Rose (Greg), James, Caroline (David), John (Helen) and Julie (Rob); her grandchildren Sacha, Mathew, Sonja, Gabriel, Daniel, Natalie, Jessica, Jacqueline and Jacob; and her siblings Cynthia, Desmond, Margaret, Marjorie, Enid, Dorothy, Theresa, Victor, Diana and George.

Ever gracious, ever humble in recognizing her need to be cared for by others, she made caring for her as much a pleasure as a duty. This was her gift to us.

Our heartfelt thanks to family and friends who faithfully visited our Mom over the course of a year. A special thanks to the dedicated Sunnybrook Palliative Care staff and Mom's personal caregivers for their kind, warm and dignified treatment of Mom.

The Funeral Mass will be held at the Franciscan Church of St. Bonaventure (1300 Leslie St., Toronto) Friday, May 25th at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Reita Williams be directed to "The Palliative Care Unit," in care of The Sunnybrook Foundation, 2075 Bayview Ave., Toronto, Ontario M4N 3M5.
