Sylvestre WinstonSYLVESTRE, Winston  - Mr. Winston Michael Sylvestre, born on December 23, 1921 in Adra, West Bengal, India, passed into spirit peacefully in his home at the age of 96 on the evening of May 21, 2018 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

From 1939 to 1945 Winston served in the British Army and Navy in World War II.

Winston was faithfully married to Pamela for fifty-eight years.

Together with their two children Winston and Pamela immigrated to Canada in 1965.

He is survived by his son, Shelton (Tracy); daughter, Melody (Gary); grandchildren, Michael, Samantha (Christian) and Sydney (Jordan); and nieces, Indira Westlake, Anna Smith and Cymbeline Gaynor.

Winston is also survived by his first cousin Cynthia Castelino.

 

He was a happy member of St. Joseph of Nazareth Church. Those who wish may donate in Winston's name may do so to any charity of your choosing or specifically to Dr. Graham's Homes for Children, Murray Road, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, West Bengal 734301, India.

Winston will be remembered for his peaceful way in this world and for his dedication to helping others.

Friends and family members may attend the visitation on Friday, May 25th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home - Brampton Chapel, ON, Canada.  A funeral service will take place, officiated by The Rev. David Bryant, on Saturday, May 26th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph of Nazareth Anglican Church, 290 Balmoral Dr., ON, Canada. Reception to follow .
