Son of Mina Frizzell (Ramsden) and James Thomas Harman of Toronto, born in Detroit, Michigan.

Loving husband of the late Madeline Smart, who passed on March 28, 2017.

Brother-in-law of the late Rosaleen (Smart) and the late Ralph Gauvreau.

Uncle of Sandra and her husband Don Fergusson and son Scott. Loving father of the late Paul Ernest Harman and of Mark James Harman.

Beloved father in law of Biserka Livaja. Treasured grandfather of Cinema and Dylan Harman Livaja, and of Tanya Harman Lagness.

Also great-grandfather of Tanya's daughter Allie. At 17, service in the US Navy gave Jim memories and experiences that he took with him throughout life, and it was later in the Canadian Federal Public Service that Jim reached out and touched so many others' lives as a Project Officer with the Trade Fairs and Missions branch.

Known the world over for his ability to make friends and organize, at home he was known by all as a kind and gentle man always ready to bring his tools along to help.

According to Jim's wishes he has been cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held in Toronto on Saturday, June 16th, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at 13 Valhalla Blvd.

Jim's ashes will be buried in Ottawa beside Maddy's and Paul's and on Saturday June 23rd a Celebration Of Life will be held in Ottawa from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road.
