Leitch PatLEITCH, Patricia Pauline Alberta - At age 75, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Southlake Hospital, Newmarket, ON.

Pat was born September 8, 1943 to the late Len and Anita (Himelman) Johnstone in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Pat was the wife of the late Fred Leitch and is survived by her children Ken (Andrea) Paradise, Eileen (Fred) Wolanski; Tina (James) Doyle, Patsi (Imre) Szabo; Marie; Christina; Sheri (Thomas) Michaud; Joe (Mel) Leitch.

She is also survived by19 grandchildren who adored their Nana, sisters Gail (George), Joan and her brother Mike (Debbie) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pat is preceded in death by her son Len (Carolyn).

Growing up Pat was active at the Mic Mac Paddling Club participating in numerous regattas as the crew on canoes in the Stroker position. She was also an avid figure skater competing in her younger days. Pat was a convoy driver for the Army reserves and later, as a young mom, used these skills to drive the school bus so she could have a schedule that allowed her to be home for her children.

Later, with eight children still living at home, she returned to school and became a Social Service Worker and Life Coach. Her greatest love was volunteering and spending time with family. She had volunteered at the Corsillo movement team, Marriage Encounter, the Christian Family Peace Weekends, and Senior homes where she played her guitar.

Pat will be remembered for her quick wit, loving non-judgmental attitude, her incredible independent spirit and how she made sure anyone who walked into her home felt welcome. She will be deeply missed.
