SWEETMAN, John Alfred  -  July 22, 1923 - May 31, 2018

Passed away peacefully on May 31, 2018 at the age of 94.

Loving husband to Barbara Mary, loving father to sons David and Craig, loving grandfather to Haley and Sean and loving father-in-law to Marie.

John was a WWII veteran and NCO in the Royal Artillery during the war who landed and survived on D-Day and was later wounded in France.

Following the war John joined the Royal Navy and had a distinguished career as an officer.

John met Barbara in Bermuda and they married in 1955 and settled in Toronto where he joined Scarborough Hydro and finished his career there and after 30 years of service he retired in 1986.

John will be remembered for his quick wit, his wonderful laugh, his kindness to others and his calm steady demeanor. He will be missed by many.

Donations in John's honour can be made to the Greater Niagara General Hospital in thanks for their kind care of John in his last days.
