JOYCE, Linda Lee - Passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, following a 3-year struggle with cancer.
Linda was born August 6, 1951 to Harriet Hawkins (Lee) and Western Willard Hawkins (Web).
Linda married Phil Joyce in July of 1975 and gave birth to their son Paul Phillip Joyce in 1977.
Linda was widowed in 1983. She never remarried and raised her son as a single parent superbly.
Linda was the best mother and a caregiver to her mother during her mother's last years.
In addition, Linda helped raise her nieces Kristen Evans and Brianna Hawkins after her sister Deidre's passing. She is survived by her beloved son Paul, her nieces Kristen Evans and Brianna Hawkins, her sister Terry Rae Hawkins Quinn (Barry), her brothers Trice and Kent Hawkins.
She will also be missed by her Kansas family and her beloved elderly clients who were more like friends, and her Don Valley Group.
If you met Linda, you would be greeted as friends upon meeting her the first time, and you would never feel judgment in her presence. Only care and laughter would reside with her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bayview Country Club on Sunday, September 16th between 2 and 4 p.m.
