STOROSCHUK, Slawko (Gerry) - Passed away suddenly on May 3, 2018 in Port Severn, Ontario.
He is survived by his sister Mary Kowalczuk, as well as numerous nephews and their families.
Predeceased by his parents John and Anna (nee Kosak) and his siblings Steve, Walter, Olga and Mike. Gerry was born on August 3, 1940 in the Municipality of Stuartburn, Manitoba.
The youngest of six children, he grew up helping on the family farm.
He attended Beckett Elementary School and then Stuartburn High School. At the time of his graduation from high school, there was a shortage of teachers in Manitoba and Gerry became a permit teacher in La Broquerie, Manitoba.
After living in Port Severn for several years, Gerry decided to sell his house and moved to Midland Ontario, where he lived until his passing.
Gerry will be greatly missed by family and friends. A Panakhyda (Memorial Service) will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., at the UNF hall, 145 Evans Avenue, Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Gerry's name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Memory Eternal! Vichnaya Pamyat!.
