Miike SaburoMIIKE, Saburo "SUB"  - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Saburo Miike - "Sub or Subbie" to those close to him, at the impressive age of 94, on Monday July 2, 2018.

He is reunited with his beloved wife Alma (May 12, 2016).

He will be missed by his children, Vernon, Linda (Patrick) Macdonald; grandkids, Alex (Jessica), Evan and Leah Macdonald, Kayla Miike; sister-in-law Nellie Kawahara and many nieces and nephews.

He was the youngest of 8 children born to Uhei and Tachi Miike in Vancouver, BC on March 24, 1924.

During the Second World War, Dad followed his brothers to the internment camps in the interior of British Columbia to work in the road camps. After leaving the camps, Dad was working in Lumby, BC at the sawmill when he met Mom in Vernon, BC.

They both headed east after the war to find work and lived in different cities before reconnecting in Toronto and marrying in 1952.

We hope Mom and Dad are hitting the links beyond the Pearly Gates and cruising in his favourite old blue Chev with the white landau roof. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 5 sisters and their spouses in Canada and Japan.

We would like to thank the staff at Wesburn Manor, Marsha Fleischer and the very dedicated and kind Dr. Wang, for their compassionate care over the past 14 months. Thanks are also extended to all who helped us care for Dad while he was still at home after losing Mom. We respectfully decline Koden.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 11th from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, July 12th from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. directly followed by a eulogy and reception from 12-2 p.m. at Turner and Porter - Peel Chapel, in Mississauga.
