Gerelus AlexanderGERELUS, Alexander  - Passed away peacefully on the morning of July 9, 2018.

Born in the Rural Municipality of Shoal Lake, Manitoba on May 7, 1929.

Leaving behind his beloved wife of 63 years of marriage, Sophia Harasym, his sons Daryl (Darlene), Blair and Bryan (Daria) and his grandchildren Brandon, Dillon, Sianna and Karsten.

Alex will be greatly missed by his sister Mae Fischer.

Predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Katherine Gerelus of Ukraine, and his brothers John, Mike, Peter and Joe and sisters his Anne, Stella and Tina. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, family and friends. He was longtime employee of CN Rail and many other business adventures.

His interests included family time at the lake, bowling, family trips and gatherings. He loved the games of lawn darts, checkers and chess.

To celebrate Alex's life, he will be resting at Newediuk Funeral Home, 2058 Kipling Avenue, on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Panakhyda Friday 7:30 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Demetrius Church, 135 La Rose Avenue on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10 a.m.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre.
