GOLLER, Steve  - January 24, 1937 - July 9, 2018

Steve, the beloved husband of Claudine (nee de Vietoris), passed away in Toronto.

He left Hungary during the revolution of 1956 and after spending one week in Austria and four months in England, where he worked and tried to learn some English.

He arrived in Canada on April 6, 1957.

He met Claudine in 1961 and they were married on December 29, 1962. He loved his adopted country and the life that he was able to enjoy here. Their adopted son Rudy, born Savoyard, predeceased him in 1990, but Rudy's sister Grace and her children James, Vanessa and Brendan Davies and their families will remember Steve's strength and faith.

Also left to mourn Steve are his sister Irma and his brother Anti in Hungary and their families, especially his niece and goddaughter Erzso and her family, as well as other relatives and friends in Canada, the US and Hungary. Steve worked for several years at Simmons Bedding and later for the Scarborough Board of Education. He retired in 1994. Steve did volunteer work at St. Thomas More Church for more than fifty years.

He will be missed by his friends there. He was a good neighbour, too, always willing to help.

Visitation will be at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, Scarborough, on Thursday, July 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, July 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m., with prayers at 7 p.m. Friday. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 2234 Ellesmere Road, Scarborough (one block east of Markham Road at Dormington Drive). The burial will follow in the Vietoris family plot in Toronto.

In lieu of flowers, Steve requested memorial donations be made to the Right to Life Association of Toronto and Area, 2238 Dundas Street West, P.O. Box 59016, Toronto, Ontario M6R 3B5 or Covenant House, 20 Gerrard Street East, Toronto, Ontario.
