With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to a truly gentle man– a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Dick is survived by Patsy (nee Earl), his loving wife of 67 years; his five children, Peter (Virginia), Wendy Moses (John Craig), Rosemary McLeese (Rob), Paul (Pam) and John (Nancy); his fifteen beloved grandchildren, Charles, Katie (Mike Mills), Jennifer Moses (Michael Shaune Fitzgerald), Michael Moses, MaryJane Moses, Paul McLeese, Stephen McLeese (Lisa), Geoffrey McLeese (Heather), Douglas (Nicole), Katherine Jumper (Derrick), Robert, Julie Elkin (Jon), Andrea, Sarah Macoun (John) and Lisa; his ten adored great grandchildren, George, Peter, Charlie, Sky, Caleb, Callum, Annabelle, Isla, Adelaide and Lillian; and his good friend and nephew Brian Hare. He was predeceased by his only sister Mary Hare.

 

Yates VeraYATES, Vera Jean (nee Reader) - Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Victoria Manor, Lindsay on Friday January 6th, 2016 at the age of 89.

Loving mother of George and his wife Sue of New Hamburg, Louise Parker and her husband Paul of Little Britain and Chris and his wife Sheri of Brooklin. Pre-deceased by her loving son Donald.

Cherished grandma to Kim and her husband Brian Rogers, Ken Witt-Yates and his partner Jane Stockwell, Rob Parker and his wife Emily McIsaac,and Jessica Yates and her partner Rob Baverstock.

Remembered with love by six great- grandchildren.

Predeceased by her brother Leonard Reader and her sisters Veronica Palmer (late Steve) and Yvonne Wilson (late Albert).

Passed away peacefully at her residence with family by her side on Friday, January 6th, 2017 at the age of 96.

Born in San Marco Argentano (C.S.), Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1966.

Beloved wife to the late Armando for over 43 years.

Loving mother of Concetta Piraino (Antonio), Gioacchino Occhiuzzi (Adelina) and Maria Palmieri (Antonio).

Much adored Nonna to Silvana D’Amato (Domenic), Giuseppe Palmieri (Bev), Graziella Smith (Greg), Sandra Araujo (Paul), Ida Natoli (Aurelio) and Serena Occhiuzzi.

 

Greenidge DavidGREENIDGE, David  -  Born October 31, 1932 in Barbados, founder of S&J Sales Company Ltd.

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of David with his family by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the age of 84.

David is survived by his loving wife Elaine of 54 years.

McDONALD, Gord  - Gord L. McDonald, born in Red Rock, ON, suddenly met his "Waterloo" on January 6, 2017 in Toronto.

Graduate of University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier.

Worked for many years in the social services field.

Will be remembered for his quirky, irreverent humour and love of the arts.

 

ARDIS, John Michael  - Aged 78, of Mono, passed at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 in the comfort and company of his family at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, having succumbed to respiratory infection after a prolonged struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

SHAW, Barbara Hilton (nee Code) - Born April 19, 1929 in Brockville, Ontario, Barb passed peacefully on January 5, 2017 at Etobicoke General Hospital following a brief illness.

Vibrant and "in charge" until the end, Barb was much loved and will be sorely missed by her three children, Nancy Rooney (Ed), Doug Shaw (Pin), and Andy Shaw (Jae), six grandchildren Jenna, David, Trista, Brandon, Cameron and Jerie, her brother Dr. Tom Code, and several nieces and nephews.

 

PUGSLEY, John Derek - P.Eng. - 1930 – 2017 - Raconteur, Polymath, Early Adopter, World Traveller, It is with great sadness that the family of J. Derek Pugsley announce his death in his 87th year at Orangeville on January 5, 2017 after a very brief illness.

Born in Montreal in 1930, Derek grew up in the Town of Mount Royal and North Toronto, graduating with an electrical engineering degree from the University of Toronto in 1952. Recruited by Canadian and US firms, he decided to remain in his beloved Canada and worked for over thirty five years at Canadian General Electric in management in the broadcast, mobile radio, central air-conditioning, information services, and corporate planning fields before becoming Vice President of Chubb Security Systems in Toronto.

 

TAYLOR, Dorothy — Passed away peacefully at Kipling Acres on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the age of 95.
