Stankovic BarbaraSTANKOVIC, Barbara (Barka) - Following a valiant battle with melanoma, surrounded by family, Barbara died on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the age of 74.

Predeceased by her husband Dragan (2014).

Left to mourn her passing are nieces Ann (Radko) Savarin, Katy (Jozo) Lerotic, Marica Briski, Barkica (Branko) Skot and their families, nephews Ivica (Vera) Benic, Tony Benic and their families, plus many more in Croatia.

Barbara spent the last 11 summers with her cherished god-daughter Tania (Eric) Vieira and family, helping with the kids, the home, and enjoying her garden and the outdoors.

Barbara was much loved and will be missed by her many wonderful friends, some new and many lifelong. She was warm and generous with a wicked sense of humour. She enjoyed peace, laughter and never met an ice cream cone she didn't like.

Barbara's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, September 5th at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, Kitchener. Holy Rosary 8 p.m. Monday.

Prayers will also be offered at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 6th at 9:20 a.m. followed by a procession to Holy Family Croatian Church, 180 Schweitzer St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.  Interment, and then reception to follow at the church hall.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Innisfree House Hospice would be much appreciated by the family.
