Special thanks to the Freeport Health Centre, GAU 4th floor staff for all their care during John’s 4 month stay. And an extra special thank-you to the Lanark Heights Long Term Care Centre staff, especially 3rd floor Pine neighbourhood for taking care of him and making him feel at home in the final months of his life.
John was called to the bar in 1968 and started practicing law with his father until taking over the practice in the mid 1970’s. After nearly 50 years of practicing law in Kitchener John finally retired in 2015. He lived his entire life in the Waterloo Region enjoying his volunteer work with the Alzheimer Society of K-W. He will be remembered by those who met him, as a special man with a very unique, sometimes dry sense of humour.
Family and friends will be received at Robert Ruggle funeral home, Waterloo on Friday, September 16, 2016 for a memorial visitation from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A service of remembrance celebrating John’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1pm. Cremation has taken place.
As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer Society of K-W or Grand River Hospital Foundation-Freeport Site would be appreciated by the family.
