Hopps VernonHOPPS, Vernon Edward  -  Passed away peacefully at the family home after a short battle with cancer on Monday, September 5th, 2016 at the age of 93.

Beloved husband to Barbara of 67 wonderful years together, loving father to David (Danielle) and John, proud Grandfather to Lyndsay, Bryan, Shawn, Jennifer, Jeff, Joanne, Ryan, Dustin and Great-Grandfather to Byron, Austin, Cristina and Adrian.

Predeceased by his daughter Janet (1983). Vern will be terribly missed and lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends.

Vern served overseas with the First Canadian Artillery Survey Regiment and Seventh Medium in Normandy. He was a long time resident of Galt having had a successful career as a well known Public Chartered Accountant and serving on the Galt school board and Galt library board in the past.

In keeping with Vern's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life for family and close friends will take place at the family farm in Cambridge on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm.

A very special thank you to family, dear friends and the palliative support team for all of the care and support you offered.

As expressions of sympathy, donations made the Canadian Cancer Society in Vern's memory would be appreciated.
