Murphy HarveyMURPHY, Harvey Keith  -  (December 29, 1931 to November 2, 2016)  -  Devoted husband, loving father, jovial brother, grandfather extraordinaire, tireless storyteller, music lover, avid sports fan, and faithful minister of God, died peacefully of complications arising from heart surgery.

He will be much missed by his wife and constant companion of 62 years, Mathilda (Tillie née Friesen), and his children, Lauren Murphy (Chong Pelot) of Ottawa, Cheryl Armstrong (Andy) of Barbados, Jocelyn Richard (Bruce) of Keswick, and Richard Murphy (Louise) of Waterloo, and his nine grandchildren who continually made him proud: Sheila (Robert Begin) and Rachel Herrndorf, Matthew (Stephanie), Louise (Ryan Roach) and Michael Armstrong, Katherine (Clark Teeple) and Jack Richard, and Jocelyn and Kieran Murphy.

His brothers and sisters, late Barbara Murphy, Jack (late Eleanor) Murphy, Warner (Joan) Murphy, Doreen (Paul) Sabourin, Barry (Marilyn) Murphy, and Dawn Murphy will remember his bad puns and sports rivalry.

Harvey was a United Church Minister for 35 years, serving in Empress, AB, Prince Albert, SK, Owen Sound, ON, and Niagara Falls, ON, before his retirement in 1996. Upon retirement, he and Tillie served at St. Luke’s United in Cambridge, and were also part of the St. James-Rosemount family. He was a powerful preacher, dedicated minister and selfless servant of God. Harvey loved to be outdoors, fishing, walking, golfing, or tending his roses. We trust he is now happily conducting the angel choirs in heaven.

The Murphy family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Henry Walser funeral home, Kitchener. A Memorial Service will be held at Saint Luke's United Church, 1620 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge,  on Friday, November 11th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the church hall.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Mary’s Hospital, the Mennonite Central Committee, or a church of your choice are welcome.
