Mausser StephanieMAUSSER, Stephanie 'Stefie'  -  Peacefully, with her family at her side, at PeopleCare AR Goudie on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in her 92nd year.

Beloved wife of the late Ernst Mausser (1989). Loved and cherished mother of Elisabeth (Frank), Helmut and the late Ewald (2005).

Predeceased by her parents Franz and Elisabeth Tscherne, siblings Joseph, Anna, Rudolf, and Frank, she is lovingly remembered by her sister- in- law Eleonore Tscherne and many nieces and nephews in both Canada and the United States. Tante Stefie was the last of her generation of  the Mausser clan and is fondly remembered for her delicious Kaffee und Kuchen.

Born in Seele, Gottschee, and married in Germany, her young family emigrated to Kitchener in 1958 to join the extended Mausser family. Ernst and Stefie established Mausser’s Custom Furniture in 1960 and worked many long hours making quality furniture. Many customers became lifelong friends.

A longtime member of the Alpine Club and of the German congregation of St. Mary’s Church, she was happiest caring for her family.

Stefie's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers 4:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon. Prayers will be offered in the funeral home at 9:20 am on Thursday, January 12, 2017 followed by procession to St. Mary's R.C. Church, 56 Duke St. West, Kitchener for a Funeral Mass at 10 am. Immediately following the Funeral Mass a reception will take place in the church hall. A private family interment will take place Thursday afternoon at Woodland Cemetery.

We would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Conestoga Lodge and at PeopleCare AR Goudie for their kindness and for taking such good care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Grand River Hospital Foundation or St. Mary's Church would be appreciated by the family.
