Briand SheilaBRIAND, Sheila Mary  -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Briand (née Leggo), a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on January 6, 2017 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

She joins her beloved husband of 45 years, Victor Briand (2010).

Loving mother of Cindy and husband Ray Campbell of Ayr, and Patricia and husband Olivier Delas of Montreal.  Proud Grandma of Kristine, Ali, Andy, Lilou and Axel, and precious great-grandchildren.

Eldest daughter of Gladys (2001) and Cecil Leggo, she will be remembered by siblings Roger (Bernie), Harry (Cheryl), Rodney (Glory), Rhonda (Don), Sharon (Ozzie), Ivan (Anne) and Alvin (Lisa). She will also be missed by the Briand family, including her many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks for the loving care and thoughtfulness given by her amazing neighbours Marlene and Wilf.

Born in Montreal, raised in Douglastown (Gaspé), Quebec, Sheila moved with Victor to Galt in 1965 to start her family. Sheila was an avid reader and had a keen interest in current events. She loved to discuss the day's news, especially the peculiar stories buried in the back pages of the paper. This interest was matched only by the events of her children and grandchildren's lives, which she spoke about with pride.

A celebration of Sheila's life is planned for the summer of 2017.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated.
