Neigh GeoffNEIGH, Geoff  -  Was born September 13, 1942 in Sudbury, Ontario, and passed away at his home in Stratford, Ontario on February 5, 2017, age 74.

He was predeceased by his parents Edward George Neigh and Charlotte Marina Pullam, his beloved wife Marion (Scott) Neigh, and his brother Edward Neigh.

Dear uncle of Scott Neigh (Stacey), Janet Neigh (Dan), Kathryn Neigh, and David Neigh (Laura), and great-uncle to Eve, Liam and Yggdrasil.

Remembered fondly by Darlene Carreiro, Ryan Domjancic, Margaret Neigh, and the devoted team who cared for him in recent years – Barb, Christine, Debbie, Razia, Sandy, Sherri One, and Sherri Two.

Geoff will be remembered by the many students and colleagues who knew him during his long career as a science and math teacher and highly successful basketball coach at Stratford Central Secondary School. He was a well-known figure in the Ontario bagpiping community, playing with the Perth Regiment Pipe Band and the St. Thomas Pipe Band, and was Pipe Sergeant of the Guelph Pipe Band when they won the North American Championships. Geoff was also a noted piping judge and teacher, and volunteered with the Pipers & Pipe Band Society of Ontario. He was an avid reader, expert gardener, enthusiastic traveller, active member of the Stratford Kiwanis Club, and strong supporter of the Stratford Festival.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. at W.G. Young Funeral Home, Stratford, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m, and a reception to follow the service. A family interment will take place at Avondale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Geoff’s memory can be made to the ALS Society of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
