Davis RobertDAVIS, Robert 'Bob' Jordan  -  (December 3, 1933 – March 2, 2017)  -  It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert J. Davis on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Grand River Hospital, at the age of 83 years.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife Betty (Densmore), his children, Julie (Barry Glofcheskie), Valerie (Todd Soehner) and Andrew (Melanie) Davis.

Gramps’ love will be missed by Alex, Morgan, Jordan, Becky, Matthew and Carson. Lovingly remembered by Ron Densmore (Betsa), Wanda Densmore (Terry) and Lynn Densmore (Eyk); Larrisa, Katrina and great-granddaughter Rayah. Bob will also be fondly remembered by the extended Schneider family.

When Bob was three years old, he and his family moved to Elmira from Manitoulin Island. Bob has always been immersed in the community newspaper business, and was the proud recipient of the Gold Quill Award for over 50 years of distinguished service in the Canadian Newspaper Community. Over the years, Bob was involved with many organizations including the Elmira Jaycees, Elmira Curling Club and he was an active, long time member of the Elmira Lions Club. In 1955, Bob married the love of his life, and high school sweetheart – Norma Woods. Together they enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, motorcycling, travelling and playing cards. Bob definitely loved celebrating with friends. Throughout his life, Bob has developed many deep friendships within the community. After Norma’s passing, he married his long time friend, of 55 years, Betty Densmore. Bob continually inspired his family with his passion for life and his genuine kindness.

The family is extremely grateful for the loving care and acts of kindness that were provided during his illness.

Predeceased by his parents E.C. 'Charlie' and Isabel (Jordan) Davis and his first wife Norma (March 1998).

At Bob’s request, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Dreisinger funeral home, Elmira. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church, 21 Arthur St., N., Elmira.

In Bob’s memory, donations to the KW Humane Society or the Grand River Hospital Foundation ICU would be appreciated. The family asks that you spend time with your children, give someone special in your life a big hug and make a toast to enduring friendships lifelong and beyond. That is what Bob would wish!
