CHAPE, John Leyland  -  Passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the age of 86.

Beloved husband of Margaret Chape. Cherished father of Jane Fletcher (John), and Proud grandfather of Erika and Jared.

John will also be sadly missed by his sisters Norma Roberts (Gwyn) and Anita Chennels (Colin); his niece Stephanie Nikiforos; and his nephew Mark Deitz. Predeceased by his parents, George and Anne; his sister Loretta Deitz and his dog and wonderful friend, Winston.

Resting at Corbett funeral home, Cambridge, where family will receive friends on Saturday, March 18,  2017 from 12 to 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life being held at 1. Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the emergency services and to Officer Jessie Foster for their compassion and care.

Donations made to Cambridge Humane Society or McMaster Children’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
