Chaplin OliveCHAPLIN, Olive Jean - (1924 - 2017) - Our beloved Olive passed away peacefully on Sat. Mar. 18th, 2017.

Born Olive Jean Wournell, April 13, 1924 in Halifax, NS, she was the much-loved wife of Lewis Chaplin who passed in 2005.

She was sister-in-law to Charlie and Della Boyce, NS, Mildred Cooke, NS, and Elsie Takacs, ON. She was a good friend to Ivan and Judy Purdy, ON and a very special aunt to nephew John Holland and wife Joanne, ON.

To the Kennas, Brian, Lilli, Nathan, Akiko and Lindsay, Olive was always part of the family, if not through blood then through love.

Olive was part of the original quilting group at the Adult Rec Centre. She walked everywhere and always carried toonies in her pocket to give to the street people. An avid reader, Olive must have read almost every mystery book in the Waterloo library!

Cremation has taken place and Olive will be laid to rest, with husband Lewis, in Middle Stewiacke, NS.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Alzheimer Society.

'The death of an old person is like the burning of a library.'
Alex Haley, from an African proverb
