Brouwers GerritBROUWERS, Gerrit  -  At age 87, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 3, 2017. He was born in Beneden, Leeuwen, The Netherlands, son of the late Gerardus and Jacoba (Van Os) Brouwers.

In 1955 he married Ann Van Herwynen in Holland. They set sail for Canada where they enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage prior to Ann's passing in 2015.

Gerrit is survived by his children Gary Brouwers, Mary Dawson (Ted), Jacqueline Brouwers-Cunliffe (Mark), Teresa Saunders and Eleanor Phillips. Loving Opa to his grandchildren Madeline Dawson, Kaycee Brouwers, Dean Cunliffe, Natalie and Christopher Phillips and Garrett Saunders. Also survived by 2 brothers and a sister in Holland.

Friends and relatives may call at W.G. Young funeral home, Stratford on Wednesday, April 5, from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday at Greenwood Court Chapel, 90 Greenwood Drive, Stratford from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. A reception will follow the service.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
