Hecktus KennethHECKTUS, Kenneth Edward  -  (Longtime Employee - JM Schneider;  Usher - Kitchener Auditorium; Courtesy Driver - Toyota)  -  Passed away quietly with family by his side on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital at the age of 88.

Beloved husband of Anita (nee Kempel) for 63 years.

Loving father of Wayne, Michael (Vicki) and Kim (Trevor Ludolph). Proud 'Poppa' of Jessica (Mike), Courtney, Tyler, Jordan and great grandfather of Kaydence and one on the way.

Son of the late Edward and Ada Hecktus. Dear brother of Jean (late Arwood Schnarr) and the late Ross Hecktus and  Elaine (Lorne Bieman). Survived by sister-in-law  Carole Hecktus. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family.

Special thanks to the nurses of the 7th Floor at St. Mary's and 3rd Floor at Freeport for their compassionate care.

Kenneth's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at  Henry Walser funeral home, Kitchener. A Celebration of Kenneth's Life  will be held in the chapel on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Mary's Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
