GIOVINAZZO, Vincent - Passed away peacefully with his son at his side, Sunday, April 9, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Beloved husband of the late Elena (2010). Loving father of Michael and his wife Marion.
Dear brother of Matilde (late Domenico), Isabella (Salvatore), Piero, Diego and the late Francesca, Angela, Francesco, Maria (late Francesco), and Angelo. Survived by sister-in-law Anna.
Vincent immigrated to Canada in 1961, where he married Elena Ferraro. As a couple they were inseparable, and had one son, Michael. Vincent worked as a carpenter, creating many fine works throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Notable highlights include The Centre in the Square, and Kitchener City Hall. Vincent enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends. In the neighbourhood where they lived, Vincent and Elena were well known for their community gatherings, open door policy, and always having room at the table. They were both deeply loved and will be cherished in the memories of all who knew them.
Visitation will be held at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, Kitchener, on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 56 Duke St. W., Kitchener, with Fr. George Nowak, C.R., officiating. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following for all in the Heritage Room at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Alzheimer Society, 831 Frederick St., Kitchener, ON.
