For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Laurin MarcellaLAURIN, Marcella Theresa  -  With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce that Marcella Theresa Laurin passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 at the age of 85. 

Marcella was sadly predeceased by her beloved husband John Laurin in 1988.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children Susan Laurin, Gordon Laurin, and Barbara MacDonald (Terry), grandchildren Benjamin, Ashley (Jon Sheppard), Matthew, Ian, Alexander, and Abigail, great-granddaughter Ella, and another great-grandchild on the way. 

Marcella was outgoing and friendly, and she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter Ella. She was passionate about Scrabble and enjoyed playing the game regularly with her friends.  Marcella was a member of the Roses Group in Cambridge and was a big fan of Neil Diamond. She loved to memorize trivia and obscure facts. 

Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Barthel funeral home, Cambridge, on Monday, February 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 13th at St. Clement's Church (745 Duke Street, Cambridge) at 10:00 a.m. 

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
