For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Jaksic NickJAKSIC, Nick - Passed away peacefully at The Westmount LTC on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the age of 98.

Beloved husband of the late Mary (2013) for 65 years.

Loving father of Joe (Clare), Val (Sylvia) and Mary (Bob Letarte). Proud grandfather of Stephanie, Michelle, Steven (Laura), Matthew, Bryan and Jeffrey. Great grandfather of Hunter and Brady.

Predeceased by his brothers Joe, Leonard and Ivo and sisters Anka and Barbara. Nick will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada, USA and Croatia.

Nick's family will receive relatives and friends from 10-10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10th at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener.  Funeral Service in the chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank Dr. M. Carothers, the nurses and personal care workers at the Westmount LTC for their outstanding care and compassion.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
